The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested a Milton man following a break-and-enter investigation connected to an incident at a home near Main Street East and Thompson Road North.
Officers responded to the residence at about 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5th after reports that a man had entered the home through an unlocked door. Investigators say an adult female resident woke up and found the suspect inside the house before confronting him, prompting the man to flee the area.
No injuries were reported and nothing was stolen from the home.
The investigation was taken over by the One District Criminal Investigations Bureau, which used neighbourhood canvassing and other investigative techniques to identify a suspect.
As a result, 36-year-old Keegan Banfo of Milton was arrested and charged on Thursday, May 7th with:
- Break and Enter
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order (3 Counts)
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
Investigators believe Banfo may be linked to other break-and-enter incidents and are asking anyone who may have been victimized, or who has information related to the investigation, to contact the One District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777 ext. 2416.
