24 Hour Row at FirePower CrossFit in support of @miltonspecialolympics — and there’s still time to make an impact.
Milton, ON – FirePower CrossFit is preparing to host a 24-hour rowing fundraiser in Milton this weekend in support of Special Olympics.
The “24 Hour Row” will begin at noon on May 1st and continue through to noon on May 2nd, with teams of four rotating on rowing machines to keep them moving for the full duration.
Organizers say the event will bring together gym members and the broader community in an effort to raise funds and awareness for athletes with intellectual disabilities.
“We are quite excited about it,” said Tonya Link, one of the organizers, who will also be participating alongside teammate Jordan Plourde. “We’re working hard to reach and hopefully surpass our goal of $5,000 for the event.”
Teams enter by contributing a minimum of $500 through a “buy a rower” format, with participants sharing the workload across the 24-hour period.
The gym is expected to remain active throughout the event, with music, spectators, and supporters on site as participants push through the overnight hours.
Funds raised will support Special Olympics programming, including year-round training and competition opportunities. Organizers have been sharing donation details through their social media channels, including Team FirePower on Instagram and FirePower CrossFit on Facebook.
Those looking to support the fundraiser can donate directly by visiting FirePower CrossFit’s social media pages for donation links or by contacting the gym for more information.
Community members like YOU are encouraged to stop by in person to show support!
