Residents across Halton are being invited to help shape the future of local forests as the Region updates its long-term Forest Management Plan.
The plan will guide how Halton’s Regional Forests are cared for, used and protected over the next 20 years, and community input is a key part of the process. An online survey is now open, giving residents, trail users and interested community members an opportunity to share their views and priorities before the plan is finalized.
The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and is open until May 19th. Participation is voluntary, and feedback will help inform management approaches for the years ahead.
Halton’s Regional Forest system spans approximately 695 hectares across 14 properties, featuring a mix of wooded areas, wetlands and meadows that support diverse wildlife, including several rare species. The Region also maintains more than 19 kilometres of single-track trails and 20 kilometres of access roads throughout the system.
Officials note the survey applies only to forests managed by Halton Region and does not include those overseen by Conservation Halton or local municipalities.
