Families in Bradford West Gwillimbury are invited to get up close with the vehicles that keep the community running during the Town’s annual Touch a Truck event this May.
Held in celebration of National Public Works Week, the free, family-friendly event takes place Wednesday, May 20th, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Urban Operations Centre on Melbourne Drive. Presented by List with Louise, the event offers a hands-on opportunity for residents to explore more than 15 town vehicles, including a Zamboni, backhoe and tractors, while learning about the roles they play in daily operations.
“Touch a Truck is a fantastic way for families to see first-hand how our public works and emergency services teams support the community every day,” says Mayor James Leduc. “It’s a fun, interactive way to spark curiosity, meet our staff, and learn about the vehicles and equipment that help keep BWG running smoothly.”
In addition to vehicle displays, the event features interactive activities such as painting a plow, crafts and colouring, along with giveaways at the Town booth. Children can also enjoy a complimentary ice cream cone or slushie from Mister Treats, while supplies last.
Due to limited space, on-site parking will not be available. Attendees are encouraged to park at Bradford District High School or Holy Trinity Catholic High School, with accessible parking available upon request.
