The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has delivered a fourth-quarter payment of $1,143,862 to the Town of Milton for hosting Elements Casino Mohawk.
The payment covers the period from January 1st to March 31st.
So far this fiscal year, Milton has received $6,346,558. Since the casino opened in August 1999, the town has collected more than $155 million in total. These revenues are distributed under the Municipality Contribution Agreement, which applies a consistent formula across Ontario’s land-based casinos.
“OLG shares revenues with host gaming municipalities to help them invest in local priorities, including community services and infrastructure,” says Zee Hamid, Member of Provincial Parliament for Milton. “These payments generated at Elements Casino Mohawk are part of our government’s commitment to support municipalities and to protect what matters most – those critical services families rely on.”
Since 1994, host communities across Ontario have received almost $2.4 billion in non-tax gaming revenue. OLG notes that these funds contribute to local infrastructure, economic development, and job creation, with more than $2.9 billion in private sector investments in casino facilities across the province over the past nine years.
