A Milton man is facing charges following an alleged assault involving a Toronto parking enforcement officer.
Toronto Police say the incident occurred on Saturday, April 11th at about 5:55 p.m. in the area of Front Street West and Bay Street, when a Parking Enforcement Officer issued a parking violation notice to a vehicle. Investigators allege the accused approached the officer, used profane language, and reached into the enforcement vehicle, grabbing the steering wheel and assaulting the officer before fleeing the scene. Police say no injuries were reported.
Officers say the accused turned himself in on Monday, and has since been charged. The 50-year-old is charged with assaulting a peace officer.
He is scheduled to appear in court in June, as the investigation continues.
