A group of young Milton athletes are bringing home international recognition after a standout showing at a major youth soccer tournament in Portugal.
Scrosoppi FC’s Boys U14 and U15 teams recently travelled to Cascais to compete in the IberCup, one of the world’s largest international youth soccer tournaments featuring top academies from around the globe. The U14 squad advanced to the semifinals, delivering a strong performance before being narrowly eliminated against tough international competition.
The U15 team, meanwhile, emerged as tournament champions following an impressive run through six matches, defeating GS Carcavelos, Central 32, and Academia Alcoitão in the knockout rounds before securing a 3-0 victory in the final. The team’s performance throughout the competition highlighted their skill, resilience, and composure on the international stage.
The club says both teams represented Scrosoppi FC and the Milton community with pride and professionalism, noting the achievement reflects the strength of grassroots soccer development in the region.
The result marks a significant milestone for the club and showcases the continued growth of Canadian youth soccer on the international stage.
