The Town of Milton is inviting residents to take part in a series of community cleanups and environmental initiatives to mark Earth Day 2026.
The municipality says it continues to prioritize environmental stewardship year-round, with cleanups planned between April 18th and May 18th to help keep outdoor spaces clean and safe. Residents can pick up cleanup kits, which include gloves, garbage bags, and area maps, at the Milton Sports Centre during operating hours. Participants are asked to notify the Town when cleanup bags are ready for collection, place them near park garbage bins, and share photos of their efforts for recognition.
In addition to cleanup efforts, the Town will support the planting of hundreds of trees and shrubs this spring and fall in partnership with Sustainable Milton and Conservation Halton, alongside approximately 650 trees scheduled for parks and streetscapes this spring. The Adopt-a-Park program is also available for residents looking to contribute year-round, helping maintain parks, roads, and trails while fostering community pride.
Milton Good Neighbours Day is scheduled for Saturday, May 2nd at 8:00 a.m., with participants gathering at Town Hall to receive supplies and cleanup site assignments, while residents can take part in cleanups throughout the month-long initiative.
Earth Day will take place on Wednesday, April 22nd.
