The Innisfil ideaLAB & Library is celebrating a love of reading this April with a full lineup of free, book-themed events for all ages.
The month-long series invites residents to connect over stories, discover new titles, and take part in engaging activities ranging from author talks to family-friendly programming at the Lakeshore Branch.
Highlights include a cookbook-themed Book Chat on Thursday, April 9th, where participants can share favourite recipes and culinary reads, as well as an author talk on Thursday, April 23rd featuring Peter MacLeod, who will discuss ideas from Democracy’s Second Act and explore the future of democratic engagement.
A Black History Book Club will be held on Thursday, April 30th, focusing on The Illegal by Lawrence Hill, with discussion led by local author Roxann Whittingham.
Families can also take part in a PA Day drop-in event on Friday, April 24th, featuring book-themed crafts and activities for children, while a gently used book sale on Saturday, April 25th offers visitors the chance to fill a bag of books for $10.
All events take place at the Lakeshore Branch in Innisfil and are free to attend, though advance registration is encouraged for select programs. Registration details can be found here.
