A man is facing multiple charges following a disturbance at a residential building in Barrie.
Barrie Police says officers were called to a multi-unit building on Toronto Street shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28th, for reports of a person believed to be armed with a knife.
Upon arrival, police heard calls for help coming from inside a locked room. Officers entered the unit, located several individuals, and took one person into custody without incident.
Investigators say multiple occupants were threatened during an altercation, with two people suffering minor injuries consistent with assaults involving a knife. Police also determined some individuals had been prevented from leaving a room during the incident.
A 48-year-old Barrie man is charged with:
- Utter Threats (x2)
- Assault with a Weapon (x2)
- Forcible Confinement
- Fail to Comply with Probation
