Two teenagers are facing multiple charges following a series of carjackings across Milton and Burlington.
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) says the incidents began at around 3:50 p.m. on Friday, March 27th, when two masked males approached a driver near Derry Road and Farmstead Drive in Milton, forcibly removed the victim from the vehicle, and fled toward Burlington.
Over the next hour, two additional carjackings were reported in Burlington. One happened near Britannia Road and Walkers Line, and then minutes later, another happened near Cedar Springs Road and Britannia Road. Police say all three victims were forcibly removed from their vehicles, and one driver sustained serious injuries.
Officers were able to locate one suspect at the scene of the first Burlington incident, while the second suspect was arrested later that evening. All three stolen vehicles have since been recovered, and no weapons were reported.
A 17-year-old Milton boy has been charged with the following:
- Robbery
- Theft of Motor Vehicle with Violence
- Disguise with Intent
A second 17-year-old Milton boy has been charged with the following:
- Robbery (3 Counts)
- Theft of Motor Vehicle with Violence (3 Counts)
- Disguise with Intent (3 Counts)
- Dangerous Operation Causing Bodily Harm
Both accused remain in custody pending bail hearings in Milton. Police note their identities are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
