A Burlington man is facing multiple charges following a drug trafficking investigation involving a package shipped through Canada Post.
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) says the investigation began in February after officers identified a suspicious shipment containing cocaine. Through a series of investigative steps, police identified the suspect as 42-year-old Trevor Herdman.
On Monday, March 23rd, officers arrested Herdman and executed search warrants at his residence and associated vehicles. Police say they seized cocaine, evidence related to shipping, a crossbow, a stolen Dodge pickup truck, fraudulent licence plates, and approximately 70,000 illegal cigarettes.
Herdman is charged with multiple offences:
- Trafficking in a Controlled Substance – Cocaine
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5000
- Tampering with a VIN
- Possession of a Crossbow Contrary to Prohibition Order (2 Counts)
- Driving While Prohibited (2 Counts)
- Trafficking Contraband – Tobacco
- Driving While Under Suspension (4 Counts)
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
Police also note that Herdman was on federal statutory release at the time of his arrest for previous drug trafficking and stolen property offences.
