A Milton resident is celebrating a major lottery win after scoring a second prize in a recent LOTTO MAX draw.
Lester Young is taking home $76,455.10 from the February 24th draw. The 53-year-old independent contractor says he discovered the win while checking old tickets at a store.
“A rush of emotions came all at once,” says Young. “I felt immediate disbelief and started giggling to myself. I had trouble processing what was happening in the moment — it was so shocking and overwhelming that I kind of froze!”
After taking time to process the win, Young shared the news with his daughters, family and friends.
“Everyone reacted with happiness and excitement. I felt loved, supported, and celebrated. It was a joyous feeling.”
Young plans to use some of the winnings to treat his daughters, possibly with a shopping trip, adding the experience has been “surreal” and one he will always remember.
The winning ticket was purchased at De Havilland Smoke & Gift on Keele Street in North York.
