A free art event for 2SLGBTQ+ seniors is set to take place in Oakville as part of an initiative focused on connection and inclusion.
The recently renamed Pride Halton is hosting the event on Saturday, March 21st, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Oakville Public Library’s Central Branch, inviting seniors aged 55 and older to get creative, express themselves and connect with others in the community. Organizers say all materials and refreshments will be provided, and accessibility supports are available for those who need them.
The event is part of Pride Halton’s Connected Hearts Seniors Project, which aims to strengthen inclusion, connection and wellbeing among 2SLGBTQ+ seniors across Halton. The initiative includes a series of four regional events designed to bring seniors together in welcoming spaces, with a larger community conference planned to celebrate shared stories and explore ways to continue supporting older adults.
Organizers say participation is free, with tickets available through registration by emailing Chair@PrismHalton.ca or phone by calling 905-691-7906.
