The Milton Menace now have their backs up against the wall.
On Friday, March 13th, the boys went into Burlington’s Central Arena looking to tie the first round series up at two.
It was Captain Graeme MacAuley who opened the scoring in the first period. His first goal of the 2026 postseason gave the Menace an early lead. They’d carry that 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
In the second period, the Cougars were able to score two quick goals in the first minute. That gave Burlington the lead, and it was something they wouldn’t give up.
The Cougars then added three more in the final period, including an empty netter, giving the Cougars a 5-1 win and making the series 3-1 in their favour.
In net for the Menace was Austin McKillop. He stopped 21 of 25 shots, good for a .840% save percentage and the loss.
The Milton Menace now need to win out, and they started that process on Sunday, March 15th.
Game #5 started off with a bang, as Graeme MacAuley found the back of the net once again. While Burlington would get one back, the Menace would take the lead once again. Jason Zhou and Dean Deligeorgis scored twice in 31 seconds to give the Menace a 3-1 to end the first period.
In the second period, Nathan Catalano would add on to the lead, and that’d be the score for the rest of the game. The game went scoreless in the third period, clinching a 4-1 win for the Menace.
Austin McKillop was in net once again. He stopped 35 of 36 shots, giving him a strong .972% save percentage and the victory.
The Burlington Cougars lead the first round series 3-2. Game #6 is scheduled for Tuesday, March 17th at the Central Arena in Burlington. It’ll start at 7:30 p.m.
If the Menace win Game #6, they will then host Game #7 at the Milton Memorial Arena on Wednesday, March 18th. Game time is listed for 7:30 p.m. Buy your tickets for any/all home games here.
