The Milton Menace went into Wednesday night looking to get a win – by any means necessary.
After two games in the first round of the OJHL Playoffs against the Burlington Cougars, the Menace found themselves down 2-0.
Game #3 took place at the Milton Memorial Arena. Ashtyn Pacheco started the scoring off just three minutes into the game. He then followed that up with another later in the first to give the Menace a 2-0 lead through 20 minutes of action.
In the second period, Dante D’Andrea extended the Menace lead with a powerplay marker. They carried that 3-0 lead through to the second intermission.
Burlington would get one back in the third period, but it wasn’t enough. Nathan Catalano eventually scored an empty netter with one second remaining to give the Menace a 4-1 victory.
Despite being chased in Game #2, Austin McKillop was back in net for Milton to start this game. He held strong, stopping 28 of 29 shots for the .965% save percentage and the win.
That puts the series at 2-1 for the Burlington Cougars. The first team with four wins will advance to the second round of the OJHL Playoffs.
Game #4 is set for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 13th at the Central Arena in Burlington.
The Menace are guaranteed to return home on Sunday, March 15th at the Milton Memorial Arena. That one starts at 6:00 p.m. Buy your tickets for any/all home games here.
