Parents and guardians in Halton are being invited to apply for positions on the Halton Catholic District School Board’s Catholic Parent Involvement Committee (CPIC).
The group is mandated by the Ontario Ministry of Education that supports parent engagement in student achievement and well-being across the district.
CPIC includes parents, trustees, and board staff, with ten parent representative seats distributed across the district to ensure regional representation. Those seats include three in Burlington, three in Milton, three in Oakville, and one in Halton Hills.
For the 2026 – 2028 term, the committee is looking to fill six parent representative positions: two in Burlington, one in Halton Hills, one in Milton for a one-year term, and two in Oakville, including one two-year term and one one-year term. The one-year positions in Milton and Oakville are by-elections to complete the final year of existing terms.
Parent representatives serve two-year terms and must have at least one child enrolled with HCDSB during that time.
The committee is also seeking a community representative for the 2026 – 2027 school year. That position will be elected by CPIC members at the first meeting of the school year in fall 2026.
CPIC members typically attend four in-person committee meetings per year and three Council of Chairs meetings, while also participating in subcommittee work and representing the board on other committees.
The application deadline is Monday, March 23rd at 12:00 p.m., with a mandatory information session scheduled for Wednesday, March 25th at 7:00 p.m. at the Catholic Education Centre, located at 802 Drury Lane in Burlington.
