Police are searching for a 58-year-old Burlington man in connection with a sweeping organized crime investigation that has already led to dozens of arrests and millions of dollars in recovered property.
The Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) say an arrest warrant has been issued for Nikola Scepanovic of Burlington as part of Project Road King, a large-scale joint forces operation targeting organized drug trafficking and auto theft networks. Scepanovic is wanted on charges of conspiracy to traffic property obtained by crime over $5,000 and conspiracy to commit theft over $5,000.
Project Road King, led by NRPS in partnership with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit and supported by several policing partners, concluded its official takedown phase in September 2025. That phase resulted in 30 arrests, more than 200 charges, major drug and firearm seizures, and the recovery of 38 stolen vehicles valued at over $3.3 million.
Since then, investigators with the NRPS Major Drugs and Gangs Unit have continued analyzing seized evidence and working alongside the Canada Border Services Agency. Police say 43 additional stolen vehicles (worth more than $3.8 million) were recovered at a port in British Columbia, where they were allegedly destined for international shipment.
Three other individuals were arrested in February 2026, and were held in custody following bail hearings. Police say the investigation remains active and further charges are anticipated.
