The Milton Menace technically went undefeated over the weekend.
On Friday, February 20th, the Menace welcomed in the Caledon Admirals to the Milton Memorial Arena.
It was the Admirals who scored first, with the Menace eventually tying it up about ten minutes later. Brayden Turley scored his 1st of the year to make it 1-1 after 20 minutes of action.
In the second period, Milton took the lead. Josh Currie and Wolf Giles were both credited with the goals, making it 3-1 for the Menace going into the second intermission.
Caledon would get one back, but it wasn’t enough. The Menace piled on the goals in the third period, with Tristan Tremble and Ashtyn Pacheco lighting the lamp. Milton beat Caledon 5-2.
Austin McKillop was in net for the Menace. He had a busy night, stopping 38 of 40 shots, which was good for a stellar .950% save percentage and the win.
The Menace then had a tough match-up on Sunday, February 22nd as they travelled north to take on the Collingwood Blues at the Eddie Bush Memorial Arena.
Collingwood was first to score, but that lead only lasted a few seconds, as Joel Apthorp was able to score right away for Milton. His 1st with the team tied the game at one.
In the second period, the Blues took the lead back in the second period before the Menace tied things back up once again. Ashtyn Pacheco’s 2nd of the weekend made it 2-2 heading into the second intermission.
No goals came in the third, and overtime proved nothing. The game would end tied 2-2.
Austin McKillop was back in net for the Menace as they prepare for their postseason run. He stopped 30 of 32 shots, which gave him the .937% save percentage.
There’s just two games left in the regular season for the Menace. They will host the Leamington Flyers on Friday, February 27th at the Milton Memorial Arena. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. Buy your tickets for any/all home games here.
The Menace will then finish their season on the road on Saturday, February 28th when they take on the Mississauga Chargers at the Port Credit Memorial Arena.
If the season were to fall into place as is right now, the Menace would finish in 3rd in the OJHL West Conference, setting them up for a first round match-up against the currently 6th placed King Rebellion. We’ll let you know who the Menace will face after this final weekend.
