Prism Halton has launched a new initiative aimed at fostering connection and inclusion among older adults in the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
The Connected Hearts Seniors Project, organized by Pride Halton, features four regional events across Halton designed to create welcoming and engaging spaces for 2SLGBTQ+ seniors aged 55 and older. The initiative will conclude with a community conference focused on sharing stories, strengthening connections, and identifying ways to continue supporting older adults in the community.
The next Connected Hearts event, “Coffee & Conversation,” is scheduled for Saturday, February 21st, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Norval United Church in Georgetown. Organizers say the gathering will offer a relaxed and inclusive environment where seniors can meet new people, share experiences, and build meaningful social connections.
All Connected Hearts events are free for 2SLGBTQ+ seniors aged 55 and over. Accessibility has been considered for all events, and participants who may face barriers to attending are encouraged to reach out to organizers for support.
