Parents and guardians of students in Grades 7 to 12 are invited to take part in a virtual information session focused on post-secondary pathways later this month.
The Halton Catholic District School Board’s (HCDSB) Catholic Parent Involvement Committee is hosting Pathways to Parent Engagement with Dr. Jon Callegher on Thursday, February 26th, at 7:00 p.m. The session will be held virtually through Microsoft Teams.
Dr. Jon Callegher, Executive Director of Job Talks, will share research-based insights aimed at helping families better understand today’s evolving post-secondary landscape. The session is designed to provide parents with practical information to support informed decisions about their child’s future.
Topics will include how the characteristics of a “good job” are defined today, concerns related to student well-being, perspectives on university, college and alternative pathways, and the physical and mental health benefits associated with careers in the skilled trades. The discussion will also examine how skills often linked to academic routes are reflected in the trades.
Registration is required, and a Microsoft Teams link will be emailed to registered participants on the day of the event.
