The second suspect in a Georgetown shooting has been officially arrested.
41-year-old James Chadrey (Chad) Hume was connected to a shooting at a residence in the area of John Street and Victoria Street on January 8th. A woman had been shot and transported to hospital with a serious, non-life threatening injury.
On Thursday, February 5th, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) officers located Hume in the area of Main Street and Park Avenue in Georgetown, taking Hume into custody without incident.
Hume has been held in custody on the following charges:
- Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
- Discharge Firearm with Intent
- Assault with a Weapon
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
19-year-old Emma MacLean was also arrested in January following the shooting.
Police have not located the weapon used in this offence and are asking anyone with information on this investigation, including anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact the Major Crime Bureau tip line at 905-825-4777 ext. 4776.

A second suspect in a Georgetown shooting has been identified by the Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS).
On Thursday, January 8th, at roughly 3:45 p.m., Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) officers responded to a residence in the area of John Street and Victoria Street after receiving a report of a woman who had been shot. The victim was transported to hospital where they are in stable condition with a serious, non-life threatening injury.
Originally, 19-year-old Emma MacLean was the lone suspect arrested in the investigation. As a result of continued investigation, 41-year-old James Chadrey (Chad) Hume of no fixed address has also been identified by the HRPS.
Investigators are attempting to locate Hume. He is wanted on the charges of:
- Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
- Discharge Firearm with Intent
- Assault with a Weapon
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
Hume is known to frequent the Halton Hills area and is considered to be ARMED AND DANGEROUS.

A Georgetown woman has been arrested following a local shooting.

As a result of the investigation, Emma MacLean was arrested and charged with the following:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Discharge Firearm with Intent
- Assault with a Weapon
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
MacLean was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.
The accused and victim are known to each other and Investigators believe this was a targeted incident.
