For the fourth consecutive year, Conservation Halton (CH) has been named one of Hamilton-Niagara’s Top Employers, earning recognition for its workplace culture and employee-focused practices.
The designation is part of the annual Hamilton-Niagara’s Top Employers competition, organized by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, which recognizes organizations that lead their industries in providing exceptional places to work.
Conservation Halton President and CEO Chandra Sharma said the recognition reflects the collaborative culture built by staff and leadership throughout the organization.
“This recognition reflects the culture our staff and leadership team create together every day at Conservation Halton,” Sharma said. “I’m proud of our employees and their dedication to CH’s mission and purpose. Every day, our people work to make a difference, preserving and protecting our green spaces, providing access to nature, and protecting communities from natural hazards.”
The award highlights a range of employee benefits, including flexible work arrangements with a $400 annual work-from-home allowance, competitive salaries, generous vacation time, and benefits that include a full year of maternity, parental, or adoption leave top-up, as well as a formal Employee and Family Assistance Program.
“To be recognized for a fourth consecutive year as a Top Employer in our region is meaningful,” said Plezzie Ramirez, Director of Human Resources. “At CH, we strive to ensure employee experiences are positive and that we are building a culture where staff wellness is top priority.”
Conservation Halton also promotes physical and mental wellness through initiatives such as free premium access to the Calm mental health app, a wellness fair offering chair massages and forest therapy, and a recently launched mental-health hub. Additional perks for staff include season passes to Glen Eden, free Conservation Halton Parks memberships, discounts on programs and merchandise, early access to select events, and a Conservation Ontario pass that provides entry to more than 300 parks across the province.
Conservation Halton offers career opportunities in environmental planning, watershed and natural hazards management, parks and education, and corporate services.
