A Barrie man is facing multiple charges after being stopped for excessive speed and impaired driving in New Tecumseth.
Nottawasaga OPP say an officer conducting traffic enforcement on County Road 10 shortly before 10:00 p.m. on Friday, January 9th, observed a vehicle travelling more than 70 km/h over the posted speed limit. A traffic stop was initiated, and officers noted signs of impairment.
The 34-year-old Barrie driver was arrested and charged with:
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform stunt – Excessive speed
- Speeding 50+ Km/h over posted limit
The accused was released on a Form 10 Undertaking, received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension, and had their vehicle impounded.
