Milton-based Scrosoppi FC has announced the appointment of Patrice Gheisar as the club’s new Director of Football Operations and head coach of the men’s first team.
The 50-year-old brings more than 20 years of coaching experience, including time with York University, SC Toronto, Ryerson University, Vaughan Azzurri, and Seneca College. He is also well known for his success in League1 Ontario, where he won the Men’s East Division with Vaughan Azzurri in 2021 and the overall league title in 2022, earning Coach of the Year honours in both seasons.
His coaching career later progressed to the professional level with the Canadian Premier League’s Halifax Wanderers. During his three seasons with the club, Gheisar guided Halifax to the CPL playoffs twice and helped set several club records for goals and points. He was also named CPL Manager of the Month in June during his first season.
In his new role at Scrosoppi FC, Gheisar will oversee football operations across the club while leading the men’s first team. The move brings him to Milton, where he is expected to play a key role in developing both senior and youth pathways within the organization.
After joining the club, Gheisar said he was drawn to Scrosoppi’s long-term vision and focus on sustainable growth. He noted the importance of creating a strong culture both on and off the field, while building men’s and women’s programs that can succeed over the coming years.
Scrosoppi FC Executive Director Shayne Griffin said the appointment reflects the club’s commitment to prioritizing culture, development and people. Griffin added that Gheisar’s experience and values align closely with the club’s direction as it continues to grow in Milton and across Ontario.
Scrosoppi FC competes in League1 Ontario Premier and operates youth and senior programs in Milton, with a focus on player development and progression at all levels of the game. They won the championship in 2024, and finished 2nd this past year – while also claiming the League Cup for the first time.
