Milton has been named one of Canada’s Top 20 Most Generous Communities for 2025, according to new data released by GoFundMe.
We ranked 16th nationwide, joining our Halton neighbours Oakville (15th) and Burlington (19th) on the list.
GoFundMe’s annual ranking is based on the number of unique donors per capita on its platform. Across Canada, generosity reached new heights in 2025, with an average of four donations made every minute as communities rallied behind causes ranging from healthcare needs to local initiatives and emergency support.
While Victoria, B.C. claimed the top spot for the third consecutive year, GoFundMe noted several returning communities and new entrants on this year’s list.
“Every donation is powered by a deeply human story,” says GoFundMe CEO Tim Cadogan. “This year’s top communities showcase the very best of us; they prove that help is inherently human, with friends uniting, strangers stepping in, and entire cities answering the call.”
In addition to the overall rankings, GoFundMe also highlighted trends in giving across key categories such as education, medical needs and emergencies. Toronto led the country in all three categories.
