It’s a gross morning!
There’s a trio of weather alerts:
YELLOW WARNING – WIND
“Strong southwesterly winds are expected to develop Monday morning with the passage of a strong cold front. The winds will become northwesterly through the afternoon. The winds will ease through Monday evening. Areas with significant ice build-up from freezing rain will be most vulnerable.
“Utility outages are possible. Significant disruptions to services and travel are likely. Significant damage to buildings and/or trees is possible.
“Secure loose objects. Stay away from fallen power lines. Prepare for some disruptions to transportation, services, and utilities.”
YELLOW WATCH – SNOW SQUALL
“A sharp cold front is expected to track over the area. Along this cold front a sudden intense snowfall is expected. A quick 5 cm of snow is possible from this snow squall as well as a rapid temperature drop, leading to icy surfaces. Poor visibility in blowing snow is likely as strong northwesterly wind gusts are expected.
“Travel may be extremely hazardous. Road closures are possible.
“Prepare for the possibility of quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.”
YELLOW ADVISORY – FOG
“Continuing early this morning.
“Travel will likely be hazardous in some locations. Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced at times.
“Be prepared for areas of near-zero visibility and allow extra time to reach your destination.”
