Halton Hills has once again received national recognition for its commitment to arts and culture, ranking first among small municipalities in the 2025 Culture Days national rankings.
This is the second consecutive year for the Town. They also advanced to third overall in Canada for community participation.
This was the 10th consecutive year of Culture Days in Halton Hills with more than 200 free and by-donation activities, welcoming 11,630 participants and showcasing the work of more than 350 local and regional artists. Mayor Ann Lawlor said the results reflect the creativity, collaboration, and strong community spirit of residents, artists, volunteers, and partners.
Halton Hills also received provincial recognition through the Ontario Culture Days Spotlight Awards. In partnership with Oakville, Milton, Burlington, and Halton Region, the municipality earned top honours for Best Collaborative Program, with Threads of Tradition, led by artist Rafia Shafiq, placing first, and the Glen Williams Bicentennial Festival recognized as runner-up.
Culture Days is a national arts and culture festival that offers free and accessible programming across Canada. In 2025, an estimated 9.5 million people participated in events held in more than 350 communities nationwide.
