The Milton Menace had an up and down weekend.
They went into their Friday, December 12th match-up against the Buffalo Jr. Sabres undefeated in the month of December. Could they keep the momentum going against a comparable Sabres team?

This one was all Buffalo early, and the Menace never really managed to get back in it. The Sabres jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first period.
In the second period, Buffalo piled on the goals, adding another pair to make it 4-0 after 40 minutes.
It wasn’t much better in the final frame, as the Sabres found themselves up 6-0 with 15 minutes to go in the game. Milton would finally get on the board, with Alec Stewart burying his 11th of the year, assisted by Nathan Catalano and Alex Spadafora. They’d one more with four seconds left, as Elijah Weykamp notched his 1st goal of the year and his OJHL career, assisted by Damon Stodola and Andrew Giljanovic. Buffalo crushed Milton 6-2.
Carter Froggett was in net for the game, stopping just 23 of 29 shots for the .793% save percentage.
The team hit the road a couple days later, travelling to Niagara Falls to take on the Canucks.
It seemed the Menace were rejuvenated enough in this game as they dominated in the shot totals: 55-23.
Niagara Falls was the first to score, taking the lead with nine minutes to go in the opening frame. Milton would tie the game shortly after, thanks to Easton Lynds’s 13th of the year, assisted by Dallys Hibbert and Dante D’Andrea. It was 1-1 after 20 minutes of action.
The rink tilt went in Milton’s favour in the second period, with the Menace outshooting the Canucks 19-8, with it coming almost entirely at even strength. Still, that only resulted in one goal late in the period. Lynds’s 14th of the year was assisted by Gabriel Ciarallo. It was 2-1 Milton after two periods of play.
In the third, Milton started scoring on their chances. Matthew Babiy was first. His 14th was assisted by D’Andrea and Tristan Tremble. Brody Leet followed that up with his 3rd of the year, assisted by Alex Spadafora and Elijah Weykamp. The Canucks would get one back, but Lynds’s put the game away with his hat trick marker, and 15th of the season, assisted by Captain Graeme MacAuley and Ashtyn Pacheco. The Menace beat Niagara Falls 5-2.
Austin McKillop was back in net for Milton. He stopped 21 of 23 shots, giving him a .913% save percentage and the win.
The Menace now head home to take on the Burlington Cougars on Friday, December 19th. Game time at the Milton Memorial Arena is set for 7:30 p.m. Buy your tickets for any/all home games here.
