Toronto Police have charged an Oakville man following a disturbance at a downtown Toronto demonstration.
According to the release, officers were directing demonstrators onto the sidewalk near Front Street East and Yonge Street on Wednesday, December 3rd when a protester allegedly assaulted an officer and attempted to disarm another before fleeing into the crowd. Investigators say the same individual later followed a victim leaving an event at Meridian Hall and uttered threats.
24-year-old Thomas Zinderdine has been charged with:
- Assault Peace Officer
- Disarming Peace Officer
- Criminal Harassment
- Uttering Threats
A 21-year-old Toronto woman was also arrested in this investigation. She faces one court of Criminal Harrassment.
Both are scheduled to appear in court on Friday, January 23rd.
