The Halton District School Board (HDSB) and its trustees acclaimed Amy Collard as Chair and Joanna Oliver as Vice-Chair this week.
This annual election process sees all 11 trustees select colleagues to lead the board for the year ahead. They will serve in the roles for the 2025 – 2026 school year.
“As I begin another year as Chair, I remain committed, alongside my trustee colleagues, to ensuring student success and well-being remains at the centre of every decision made,” says Amy Collard, Chair of the Halton District School Board. “By working closely and building genuine partnerships with families and the broader community, we can create the conditions where every student has the support and opportunities they need to thrive. During the past year, we laid the foundation for meaningful progress through the launch of our 2024-2028 Multi-Year Strategic Plan. We are already seeing its impact, and I am proud of the collaborative effort that brought it to life. I look forward to continuing this important work and remain dedicated to fulfilling the commitments we made, ensuring our schools are places where every learner is supported to grow and succeed both inside and outside the classroom.”

“I am honoured to continue serving as Vice-Chair and to work alongside my fellow trustees to ensure HDSB students have the support and opportunities they need to thrive,” says Joanna Oliver, Vice-Chair of the Halton District School Board. “As we continue putting the Multi-Year Strategic Plan into action, we are already seeing the impacts of our collaborative efforts, while recognizing there is still important work ahead. By placing the voices of students, families and staff at the forefront of every decision, we can ensure that our efforts reflect the needs of our community, and our schools remain places where every learner feels welcomed and supported to pursue their passions and achieve their goals.”
