The Darling Home for Kids is launching a major Giving Tuesday initiative.
Guardians Michele Darling and her family (Michael, Daniel and Ryan Eagen) will match all donations made until December 2nd, up to $50,000. The organization says the matching campaign will help expand support for medically complex children and their families across Ontario.
“This is an important time of growth for our Home,” says Darling. “By matching every donation through Giving Tuesday, we hope to inspire others to give and to show these remarkable children and their families that they are not alone.”
Darling has served as a Guardian since 2007. She has played a key role in multiple fundraising campaigns, including efforts that doubled the Home’s size in 2008 and raised more than $7 million for the current Phase 3 Expansion. The ongoing expansion will add 10,000 square feet to increase capacity from 12 to 16 beds, while introducing new therapy rooms, family meeting spaces and a four-seasons room. Construction is expected to be completed in late spring 2026.
Families say the Home’s services are essential. One parent, Amber, shared that her son Rowan’s respite stays provide critical relief while connecting them to a supportive community of families facing similar challenges.
As the only pediatric facility of its kind in Canada, The Darling Home for Kids provides more than 40,000 hours of respite, palliative and residential care each year. The organization supported 36 families last year and relies entirely on donor funding to operate.
Donations made during the Giving Tuesday Match will be doubled thanks to the Darling and Eagen families. Contributions can be made online.
