The Halton Police Foundation, in partnership with FirstOntario Credit Union, has launched the new Adopt A K9 program.
It gives residents a chance to symbolically adopt one of Halton’s highly trained police dogs while supporting community safety initiatives.
Halton Regional Police Service’s five K9s play a crucial role in protecting the community, and each symbolic adoption helps fund programs for at-risk youth and underserved residents. Adopters will receive a plush replica, certificate of adoption, and fun facts card about their chosen K9 hero.
“At FirstOntario, we believe in building stronger communities through meaningful partnerships,” says Joanne Battaglia, Senior Vice-President of Marketing, Communications & Partnerships at FirstOntario Credit Union. “Supporting the Halton Police Foundation’s K9 Program is a unique way to connect with residents while contributing to public safety.”
Colleen Mulholland, Executive Director of the Halton Police Foundation, added that the initiative helps “educate our community on the valuable role that our K9 Unit plays” while raising vital funds to support vulnerable residents.
