Halton Healthcare has announced plans to expand capacity at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) and Milton District Hospital (MDH) following Ontario’s Fall Economic Statement.
This will add 123 new acute care beds within two years.
The project will complete shelled space at OTMH and increase clinical capacity across both sites, creating new healthcare and construction jobs.
“Our government is making historic investments to build a stronger, more connected health-care system that puts patients first,” says Ontario Premier Doug Ford. “The expansion of Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital and Milton District Hospital means more families will get the convenient and world-class care they deserve, in their community.”
With Halton’s senior population expected to double in 20 years, the expansion will help meet rising demand for care. The new spaces will offer modern, private and semi-private rooms that promote comfort, dignity, and recovery
