Conservation Halton and the Hamilton Conservation Authority celebrated Watershed Stewards Appreciation Day on Saturday, October 4th.
The event at Area 8 Conservation Area was about honouring landowners for their contributions to environmental protection. It recognized nine recipients, including 407 ETR, Karen Brock, Ashley Elliott, and Andrews Scenic Acres for leadership in corporate, community, urban, and agricultural stewardship.
Conservation Halton CEO Chandra Sharma praised the recipients for helping restore ecosystems and strengthen community resilience.
Since 1994, more than 300 landowners have been honoured for protecting over 13,400 acres of land.
