The Town of Halton Hills is joining communities across Canada in celebrating Small Business Week from October 20th to 25th, recognizing the local entrepreneurs and businesses that fuel the local economy and enrich community life.
With about 1,500 small businesses providing over 10,650 jobs, the town is shining a spotlight on their contributions through events, resources, and success stories.
“We wanted to share the successes of the small businesses in Halton Hills who contribute to the strong business environment and high quality of life that we all enjoy,” says Mayor Ann Lawlor. “Small businesses are the lifeblood of our community. I invite entrepreneurs, both seasoned and new, to join us for a week of networking, learning, and growing your business.”
Highlights of the week include a free Small Business Networking Event on October 22nd at the Gellert Community Centre, hosted with the Halton Small Business Centre. The “Our Town, Our Stories” campaign, in partnership with local influencer Justin Plus Lauren, will feature interviews with small business owners. Residents and visitors can also explore local shops with the Autumn Discovery Pass, offering exclusive deals and discounts at over 20 participating businesses until November 1st.
Additional resources are available through the Halton Hills Public Library, including access to creative tools, business planning support, and 1-on-1 consultations with Small Business representatives. Eligible businesses can also apply for the town’s Community Improvement Plan (CIP), which offers grants of up to $30,000 for projects like façade improvements and property renovations.
