High school students across the community are invited to take part in Canada’s largest recreational reading program – the Forest of Reading.
The White Pine list, designed for grades 9–12, challenges readers to explore 10 nominated Canadian titles and cast their vote for a winner. The official nominated list available here.
To be eligible to vote in April 2026, participants must read at least five of the nominated titles, though eager readers are welcome to complete all ten. Voting closes on April 28th.
Readers can track their progress through the Beanstack challenge and even collect Book Tokens at library branches for each completed title – tokens can be clipped onto a keychain as a keepsake. That starts on Thursday, October 16th and runs until Saturday, November 29th.
