The South Simcoe Police Service is investigating after two suspicious fires were reported last week in Innisfil.
On Thursday, October 9th, at around 11:30 p.m., the Innisfil Fire Department alerted police to a blaze outside a vacant condominium building. Officers arrived to find evidence that the fire had been intentionally set, along with signs of a second attempted fire nearby.
No one was injured, as the building was unoccupied, and damage was minimal. Investigators say a male suspect dressed in dark clothing and a mask was seen setting both fires before fleeing on foot.
The Criminal Investigation Bureau is leading the case and asking anyone with information to call 905-775-3311 or email investigations@southsimcoepolice.ca. Anonymous tips can also be shared through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
