The Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) has appointed Patrick Murphy as the new Catholic School Board Trustee representing Milton Wards 2 and 3.
His appointment follows the resignation of Trustee and Vice-Chair Emma Murphy, and was finalized through a public application and interview process.
Ten qualified candidates participated in a Special Board Meeting on October 9th, where they presented to trustees and responded to questions before a secret ballot vote selected Murphy. An experienced trustee, Murphy previously represented Milton Wards 2 and 3 during the 2018 – 2022 term. He then ran for Town Councillor in the 2022 municipal election.
Murphy will be officially sworn in on October 21st at the Regular Board Meeting in Burlington. He will serve for the remainder of the current term, which ends in November 2026.
“I am honoured to have the opportunity to serve the Milton Catholic community once again,” Murphy said, adding that his prior experience will allow him to contribute meaningfully right away.
