The Halton District School Board’s Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) will host its annual Parent Involvement Committee Conference next month.
This year’s theme, “Embrace. Engage. Celebrate: Building Welcoming Communities Together,” focuses on strengthening partnerships between families, schools, and communities.
Keynote speaker Pardeep Nagra, Human Rights & Equity Advisor at HDSB, will share insights on belonging, kindness, and inclusion. Nagra, a nationally recognized speaker and humanitarian, has received both the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal and the Queen Elizabeth II Community Service Award for his contributions.
The conference will also feature interactive workshops on social media safety, mental health, anxiety, and teaching in the age of AI. Free child minding, refreshments, lunch, and transportation options will be available.
The conference will be on Saturday, November 15th, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Elsie MacGill Secondary School in Milton.
Registration is open to all HDSB parents, guardians, and community members until Friday, October 31st. To register, click here.
