Milton Town Hall
George Minakakis has officially been declared the Town Councillor for Milton’s Ward 1.
Last night’s results have been certified by the Town Clerk’s office.
Minakakis will replace Kristina Tesser Derksen, who was elected as Member of Parliament for Milton East – Halton Hills South. He will serve in the role for the remainder of the 2022-2026 term.
Results, provided by the Town of Milton:
- George Minakakis – 1804 votes
- Rick Di Lorenzo – 958 votes
- Zainab Raza – 565 votes
- Zaheer Ashraf – 364 votes
- Adejisola Atiba – 96 votes
- Pat O’Reilly – 79 votes
- Gourav Suri – 51 votes
- Shahbaz Khan – 29 votes
- Cecil Young – 25 votes
It wasn’t an incredibly active election, with just 3,971 out of 23,155 eligible voters casting a ballot, good for just 17%.
According to the Town of Milton’s agenda, the next Council meeting is on November 3rd.
