The Milton Menace remain undefeated after a pair of games over the weekend.
On Friday, October 3rd, the Menace welcomed the King Rebellion into the Milton Memorial Arena.
It was a scoreless first period, with the Menace outshooting the Rebellion 20-12. That seemed to be the case as well in the second period, before Ivan Fabjan found the back of the net on the powerplay with 29 seconds to go. His 5th of the year was assisted by Tristan Tremble and Gabriel Ciarallo. Milton led King 1-0 after 40 minutes of action.
In the final frame, the Menace got some insurance from Alec Stewart. His powerplay marker, and his 5th goal of the season, was assisted by Dallys Hibbert and Brayden Turley. That’d be enough, as Milton won 2-0.
Austin McKillop was back in net for the Menace. He had a busy night, stopping all 39 shots for the shutout win.
Milton wasn’t done just yet, as the Markham Royals came to town on Sunday, October 5th.
The Menace struggled to get their legs going early, as the Royals jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period.
While the second period was uneventful on the scoresheet, the Menace were able to get on the board in the final frame. Josh Currie buried his 5th of the year, assisted by Gavin Sheehan and Tristan Tremble. Before the end of the game, Owen King got on the board with his 2nd of the year, assisted by Currie and Ivan Fabjan. It was 2-2 after 60 minutes of play.
Overtime came up empty, meaning the Menace tied a game for the second time this season.
Carter Froggett was the netminder for Milton. He calmed things down enough to stop 33 of 35 shots, giving him the .942% save percentage.
The Menace will have the work week off to get ready for their games this weekend. That includes a rematch of the OJHL Finals against the Trenton Golden Hawks. Puck drop at the Duncan Memorial Gardens is set for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 10th.
They return home on Sunday, October 12th for a Thanksgiving game against the Collingwood Blues. Game time at the Milton Memorial Arena is set for 6:00 p.m. Buy your tickets for any/all home games here.
