The Ontario government is investing $8.4 million in Milton through the second round of the Building Faster Fund, rewarding the town for exceeding its provincially designated housing target in 2024.
Milton broke ground on 2,260 new homes last year, reaching nearly 130% of its goal.

The funding will be used to support housing-related infrastructure such as stormwater management, road rehabilitation, and active transportation routes, helping the community keep pace with growth.
“This funding strengthens our efforts to create complete, connected communities and helps ensure Milton remains A Place of Possibility,” says Mayor Gord Krantz, thanking the province for its support.
The Building Faster Fund, launched in 2023, is a three-year, $1.2 billion program that rewards municipalities making strong progress toward housing goals. Across Halton Region, Ontario is investing nearly $35 million through the Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program.
According to the province, Ontario recorded 13,910 rental housing starts between January and August 2025, a 23.1% increase over the same period last year and the highest level on record.
