A Milton man is celebrating after winning $50,000 in the August 14th Wintario50 draw.
Harpreet (Harp) Singh says he was out running an errand for his wife when he decided to pick up a lottery ticket.
“One day, I was enjoying my morning coffee when I remembered to check my ticket,” he shared while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect his winnings. “I scanned it using the OLG app and saw the Big Winner message on the screen. I wondered, ‘Is this right? Did I just see that correctly?’ I scanned it again and the message was the same.”
He adds that he immediately called a family meeting to share the incredible news.
“There was a lot of surprise, disbelief, and shocked faces. As the day went on, it started to sink in for us all.”
Singh plans to put his winnings toward his children’s education.
The winning ticket was purchased at Rexall on Derry Road in Milton.
