The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority (NVCA) is partnering with TD Friends of the Environment Foundation to host four TD Tree Days events this fall in Mono, Angus, Wasaga Beach, and Creemore.
Families, individuals, and community groups are invited to take part in planting native trees and shrubs to help restore local ecosystems.
One event happened on Saturday, September 20th, another is planned for Saturday, September 27th, and two will take place on Saturday, October 18th. Volunteers will work alongside NVCA staff to improve wildlife habitat, enhance water quality, and support healthier rivers, streams, and wetlands. The plantings will also help filter runoff, provide shade to keep streams cool for fish, and create homes for birds and other species.
“Tree planting is one of the most impactful ways to support a healthy watershed,” says Sarah Campbell, NVCA Aquatic Biologist and event coordinator. “TD Tree Days brings people together to make a lasting difference for our communities, wildlife, and water.”
Since 2010, TD Tree Days has engaged thousands of volunteers across Canada, planting more than 550,000 trees. This year, nearly 1,000 new trees will be added across the Nottawasaga watershed thanks to community efforts.
Landowners interested in tree planting projects for 2026 can contact NVCA at 705-424-1479, while volunteers can find more details about upcoming events here.
