Barrie Police have arrested a 55-year-old man for Accessing Child Pornography and Possessing Child Pornography.
Their Internet Child Exploitation Unit received a report from the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children concerning the distribution of child pornography via the social media website KIK. Upon completion of several Production Orders, a Search Warrant was executed at a residence in northwest Barrie on Monday, September 8th.
As a result of this investigation, several computer devices were seized, and forensics revealed the images as suggested in the KIK report to NCMEC.
The unnamed Barrie man was held in custody for a bail hearing but has since been released.
