The HerQuest for Hospice Race is back this weekend, and it promises a day full of fun, fitness, and friendly competition – all for a great cause.
This unique “Amazing Race”-style event features teams of four women competing in a series of 15 challenges spread across the Milton. The challenges are designed to test not just physical endurance, but also mental agility and, most importantly, teamwork.
Chair of the HerQuest for Hospice committee, Deborah Bernardino, shares what newcomers can expect.
Each team will receive a clue at the starting line, sending them on foot to their first challenge. From there, it’s a race against the clock – and other teams – to solve, complete, and move on to the next location.
While Bernardino wasn’t able to share any of the challenges in this year’s event, she did provide her favourite from past years.
Their goal this year is to raise $50,000. They’ve managed to hit their fundraising goal every year since the event began in 2021.
It’s happening on Saturday, September 13th, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., all throughout Milton.
Register here. All money raised will support the Townsend Smith Foundation’s mission of bringing a hospice to North Halton.
If you can’t take part, Bernardino invites anyone and everyone to at least visit Downtown Milton during the event to take in the fun of the day.
They are also looking for volunteers. This is a large scale event that requires up to 60 volunteers to run smoothly. Learn more here.
