Starting Kindergarten is a big milestone, and the Halton District School Board (HDSB) is inviting families to get ready through its Calling All Three-Year-Olds Kindergarten Open Houses this October and November.
The events are designed for children beginning Kindergarten in September 2026, helping families feel confident and prepared for this important first step in education.
Open Houses will be held from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at schools across Halton, including:
- Robert Little Public School in Acton – Wednesday, October 8th
- Ethel Gardiner Public School in Georgetown – Thursday, October 16th
- Alton Village Public School in Burlington – Thursday, November 6th
- Irma Coulson Public School in Milton – Thursday, November 13th
- Dr. David R. Williams Public School in Oakville – Thursday, November 20th
READ – HCDSB holding Kindergarten Open Houses this fall
At the events, families can explore Kindergarten classrooms, meet staff, learn about HDSB’s early years programming, and connect with community partners. Attendees will also receive a free children’s book and tote bag, as well as information about before and after school care.
Registration for the open houses is not required. Children must be four years old by December 31st, 2026 to begin Junior Kindergarten and five years old by December 31st, 2026 to start Senior Kindergarten. Registration for September 2026 entry will open in January 2026, either in person or online.
