The Helson Gallery has unveiled The Colours of HER-story, a powerful new exhibition that highlights the vibrant third chapter of women’s lives.
Featuring bold and expressive works by artists Stephanie Schirm and Sian Gordon, the show dives into themes of aging, identity, and self-discovery from a distinctly female perspective.
Visitors are invited to go beyond the traditional male gaze and explore art that is personal, honest, and transformative.
A special exhibition reception will be held on Thursday, September 25th from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., where guests can meet the artists and enjoy live music by local musician Don Ablett.
“This exhibition beautifully shows that life’s later chapters are full of colour, wisdom, and creativity,” says Halton Hills Mayor Ann Lawlor. “It’s a powerful reminder that every stage of life has its own richness.”
The exhibit runs until October 19th.
While at the Cultural Centre, visitors can also explore other exhibitions currently on view until September 21st, including:
- Kindred Spirits: The Lucy Maud Montgomery Legacy, a touring book arts exhibition by CBBAG artists.
- Halton Hills Plein Air Artists, showcasing stunning local landscapes painted outdoors.
- Glen Williams Historical Photography, celebrating the Hamlet of Glen Williams’ 200th anniversary.
