Burlington OPP say a 16-year-old G1 driver has been charged after being stopped for driving nearly double the speed limit over the long weekend.
It happened on the Toronto-bound QEW near Walker’s Line in Burlington early Monday, September 1st. Police report the teen was clocked in at 196 km/h in a 100 km/h zone at around 8:00 a.m.
The young driver faces several charges, including stunt driving, three G1 licence offences, and operating an unsafe motor vehicle.
The vehicle has been impounded for 14 days, and the teen’s licence has been suspended for 30 days under Ontario’s stunt driving laws.
Also over the long weekend, a Toronto man reportedly suffered a medical emergency on the QEW in Burlington, leading to a fatal collision.
